I absolutely loved my stay at this lodge! The decor was stylish and the terrace with a table and chairs was a great spot to relax. The check-in process was easy with a lock box, and I appreciated the nice touch of fresh berries in the fridge. The location was perfect for attending a wedding nearby, and there was ample parking available. The staff at the nearby cafe were incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious. I had breakfast there both mornings and it was fantastic. the cleanliness, facilities, location, and staff were top-notch.
Nothing that I didn't like.

A superb lodge for a short stay, overlooking beautiful outdoor gardens and terrace as well as the rolling Aberdeenshire countryside. Has all the facilities you need to self-cater, but you can also enjoy food, including the famous Barra berries, from the nearby farm shop. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast from there, kindly delivered to our lodge by the very nice staff. Loved the propriety. Location in terms of touring around was great. Staff were very helpful. Loved the strawberries in the welcome pack.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

The staff treated us with kindness and delivered a delicious breakfast from the nearby farm shop right to our lodge.
The morning meal could have been improved with a bit more variety of local options.

I absolutely adored the beautiful decoration throughout the lodge - it had a charming and homely feel. The general areas were lovely and well-maintained, making it easy for me to navigate as a senior woman. The accessibility for senior people was excellent, with no stairs or obstacles in the way.
I would have loved to have a little more assistance from the children working there. It would have been nice to have someone personally greet me and show me around, rather than just receiving information through email.

I was absolutely delighted with the beautiful decoration throughout the lodge. The attention to detail and high standard of decor made me feel like I was staying in a luxurious retreat. The general areas were also very accessible for senior people like myself, with plenty of space to relax and move around comfortably. I especially appreciated the wooden deck area with the table and chairs, which offered stunning views of the castle and the surrounding Aberdeenshire countryside. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea and soak in the tranquil ambiance.
The only thing I would ask for a better vacation for senior people is more personal interaction with the staff. It would have been nice to have someone greet us in person rather than just communicating through emails.

The lodges were impressive and well-organized, making our pre-arrival experience incredibly smooth. My daughter was so excited she did a happy dance when we opened the door to our lodge. The farm shop and cafe conveniently located nearby served us an excellent breakfast.
There was a bit of road noise from the nearby road which could be heard in the afternoon and evening. Thankfully, it died down by bedtime.

We had a fantastic stay at the Lodges @ Barra Castle. The venue was amazing and the lodge itself was clean and beautifully furnished. We were pleasantly surprised with a delicious welcome pack of strawberries. The location was great for exploring the surrounding areas, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The farm shop on site was a bonus, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the nearby cafe. we highly recommend staying here.
If I had to be picky, I would have liked a bath in our lodge after a busy day. Also, the proximity to the road meant there was some noticeable road noise at times, but it wasn't a major issue with the windows closed.
